I connected my wireless router, now what?

OK, I have high speed internet and bought a netgear N300 wireless router so I can use my laptop in any room of my house. I followed the diagram for connecting everything, inserted the CD and followed directions and when I was done it said congratulations you are now connected to the wireless network. But when I unplug my computer to take into a different room I cannot get the internet. What am I missing?? Also, I have a canon Pixma MP560 wireless printer that I want to connect wirelessly to my laptop. I am suppose to press a button on it to connect it. HUH? What button? I can't find a button. Any help would be so appreciated! Thanks!
