What wireless usb adapters work with verizon 3g router - mifi?

I have an old desktop that does not have a wireless card. The old usb adapter I've been using will not hold the signal long (it connects & then immediately drops). I've changed settings etc... and concluded the problem is with the old wireless usb (the verizon mifi works perfect with my laptop). Since they're not too expensive, I decided to replace the wireless usb stick, but wanted to be sure I bought something that others have had success with. THANKS FOR THE HELP!
