How can I get the HP volume window to popup when I change or mute the volume?

Above my keyboard on my laptop, there is a "touch" area to mute all sounds, a "touch" area to adjust volume up or down, and a "touch" area to toggle Wireless on and off. How can I get the volume indicator window to pop up when I mute or adjust the volume?
