Laptop won't connect to wireless?

So I use wireless from my neighbor and my laptop won't connect. it just sits there and says "please wait while windows connects to the network" for about 5minutes then it just disappears. my iPod is connected to the same wireless right now, that's how I asked this question. any help is appreciated!
