What program can I use to connect to wifi. Windows 7?

So I'm using windows 7 Ultimate (32bit) and I want a different way to connect to the internet. When I click on available wireless networks every network shows either 4 or 5 bars of signal. Most of the time the network with supposed excellent signal strength has no signal strength at all. When I try to refresh the list it doesn't work 99 percent of the time. It shows networks that are miles away at the last place I tried to connect. Vista sucked balls but this part worked great. Soooo is there a 3rd party software I can use that shows signal strength and a button to connect to a network. Oh and WeFi is horrible, don't even get me started on that horrible software. My wireless card is a dell 1390. Thanks for any advice.
