Get a ethernet wire cable upstairs?? sony bravia tv?

hi, i need a ethernet wired connection upstairs for my sony bravia tv, i am with virgin so how can i go abouts doing this? There is a wireless dongle available for the tv but they cost �70!! any advice appreciated. thanks
